Health Benefits of Dental Implants

What are Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are titanium screw used to replace the root of a tooth. The top of the implant is the crown which will be made to imitate the colour and shape of your real teeth so it can fit perfectly into your mouth, without being noticed.

Cosmetic Benefits

The cosmetic benefits of Dental Implants are obvious, if you have a bad tooth that needs removing and replacing, implants are usually the best way forward. They are great at filling missing gaps in your tooth line and appear very natural (as you can’t seem the titanium screw).

Health Benefits

Dental Implants don’t just come with cosmetic benefits. They can improve mental wellbeing, by regaining  your confidence in your smile, and even the more tangible health benefits such as:

  1. Allowing you to chew
  2. Improved Speech
  3.  Protection of healthy teeth
  4. Allow you to eat all foods
  5. Healthy bone protection

Allowing you to chew and eat all of the necessary food to keep you healthy is a massive benefit. Dental Implants can also protect your jaw bone. Without an implant to fill a missing gap, the jaw bone underneath where the original tooth used to be will begin to weaken and even rot away. This is because it’s not being stimulated. Dental Implants are actually placed into the Jaw Bone giving it the stimulation that it needs to remain strengthened.
